Walnut Creek, Concord Medical Centers Among 15 Best Hospitals In CA: U.S. News

WALNUT CREEK, CA — John Muir Health’s Concord and Walnut Creek Medical Centers were two of only 504 hospitals nationwide - or 11% of the more than 4,400 hospitals evaluated nationwide) - to earn the U.S. News & World Report’s title of Best Regional Hospitals in its annual list of America’s Best Hospitals.. In order to receive this designation, hospitals needed to earn at least eight ratings of “high performing” across a variety of procedures and conditions.

For the ninth straight year, U.S. News ranked the hospitals in the top 3 of nearly 50 hospitals around the Bay Area.

Both hospitals were also ranked in the top 15 out of more than 400 hospitals across California. The Walnut Creek Medical Center was also ranked 41st nationwide in Obstetrics & Gynecology, the 19th consecutive year the hospital received a national ranking. It was also ranked as high performing in a number of other specialties and procedures, including:

• Gastroenterology & GI Surgery
• Geriatrics
• Orthopedics
• Pulmonology & Lung Surgery
• Back Surgery (Spinal Fusion)
• Colon Cancer Surgery
• Gynecological Cancer Surgery

The Concord Medical Center was ranked as high-performing in gastroenterology & GI surgery, geriatrics, and pulmonology & lung surgery, and high performing in 18 procedures, including including abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, aortic valve surgery, chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD), and Colon Cancer Surgery.
