WALNUT CREEK, CA — Walnut Creek police on Thursday arrested a man not long after he allegedly robbed a downtown bank.
Police responded just after 12:30 p.m. to a reported bank robbery at Chase Bank at 1390 S. Main St.
The suspect, 54-year-old Ronald Lane of Livermore, passed a note to the teller demanding money and didn't use a weapon, police said.
Lane allegedly fled in his vehicle after the teller gave him money. Police found Lane not far away, driving on Olympic Boulevard.

Police made a traffic stop, arrested Lane, and recovered the money. He was booked into Martinez Detention Facility on suspicion of robbery.
