CHP, WC Police Reopen Highway 24 & I-680 Interchange
Walnut Creek police and CHP closed the area Wednesday afternoon due to undisclosed police activity.

WALNUT CREEK, CA — The interchange from eastbound state Highway 24 to northbound Interstate Highway 680 in Walnut Creek reopened Wednesday at about 4:30 p.m. after a closing earlier in the afternoon due to undisclosed police activity, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP issued the closure alert at 2:18 p.m., but did not specify the nature of the incident.
Walnut Creek police assisted the CHP in shutting down several off-ramps and roadways in the area, the department said.

Drivers were asked to avoid the area, and Mt Diablo Boulevard at Camino Diablo was closed, as was Camino Diablo between Mt Diablo and El Curtola boulevards.
