Walnut Creek Restaurant Among Top Burmese Restaurants: Bay Area List
Not only is Burma 2 one of the best Burmese restaurants in the Bay Area, but it is also one of the best restaurants in Walnut Creek.
WALNUT CREEK, CA — The San Francisco Chronicle named a Walnut Creek restaurant to its list of the Top Burmese Restaurants in the Bay Area.
Not only is Burma 2, at 1616 N. Main Street, one of the best Burmese restaurants in the Bay Area, but it is also one of the best restaurants in Walnut Creek, according to the Chronicle's associate restaurant critic Cesar Hernandez.
Burma 2 opened in 2019 as the sister restaurant to Burma in nearby Dublin. It features indoor and outdoor seating (with heaters!), takeout and delivery, and vegetarian options.

The restaurant's "well-dressed" tea leaf salad ($15), its Burmise-inspired cocktails and excellent snacks are just a few reasons why this popular eatery made the list, according to Hernandez's review.
"... Jam-packed with crunchy, juicy and funky ingredients like tea leaves, fried garlic, fish sauce and lemon juice. The salads are well-dressed, with a pleasant fishiness and multitudinous textures," Hernandez wrote.

To sip, he recommended trying the hibiscus mojito ($13), a rum-based drink described as stimulating with its tart citrus and slightly saline coconut water.
Moving along, the salt and pepper calamari ($14) opens up the appetite with salty, bouncy fried squid, made even better with a side of sharply fragrant chile oil, according to the review.
"Tasty entrees like the dry beef curry ($19), laced with a spiced coconut curry sauce, impress as well," Hernandez wrote. "I recommend going spicy, which is actually pretty mild."
Burma 2 is open daily for lunch and dinner. It has a full bar and accepts online orders as well as credit cards.
