Walnut Creek Restaurants Named Best Of The East Bay
Walnut Creek eateries swept multiple food categories in the voting by Diablo Magazine readers.

WALNUT CREEK, CA - Readers of Diablo Magazine adore Walnut Creek restaurants as shown in the “Best of the East Bay” 2023 voting. They selected a winner and runner-up in each category, with Walnut Creek dining spots chosen in 22 different food categories.
House of Bagels topped the Bagels category. It has multiple locations including 1331 Locust St. in Walnut Creek. The runner-up in the category also has an outpost in Walnut Creek — Bagel Street Cafe is at 2975 Ygnacio Valley Road.
The winner of Breakfast Spot is Sunrise Bistro and Catering of Walnut Creek.

If you prefer Brunch to breakfast, the runner-up is in Walnut Creek, Twisted Times Restaurant Sports and Spirits.
If you love Burgers, Walnut Creek is the place to be, sweeping the category. The winner is Twisted Times Restaurant Sports and Spirits while the runner-up is Broderick.

Another Walnut Creek sweep came in the Coffeehouse category, with Tellus Coffee the winner followed by Rooted Coffee Co.
In the Deli category, Walnut Creek's Morucci’s is the runner-up.
A runner-up nod also came in the Diner category, for Black Bear Diner at 700 Bancroft Road.
Walnut Creek swooped up the winner position for Fine Dining, a distinction given to Benvenuti Ristorante.
The Healthy Dining category saw Oke Poke come out on top.
Need to cool off as temperatures soar? You're in luck! The winner of the Ice Cream category is Lottie’s Creamery of Walnut Creek, followed by runner-up Loard’s which also has a spot in town.
If you think Italian food is delisioso, you're in the right place. Walnut Creek swept the Italian Restaurant category. Benvenuti Ristorant came out on top followed by Montecatini Ristorante and Bar.
The runner-up in the Kid-Friendly Restaurant category is Skipolini’s Pizza with multiple locations including Walnut Creek.
If you are looking for a great Mexican Restaurant, Walnut Creek's Bar Camino is the runner-up in the category.
Bar Camino topped the New Restaurant category, followed by Lita, another sweep for Walnut Creek.
Speaking of sweeps, Benvenuti Ristorant topped the Restaurant With Outdoor Dining and Romantic Restaurant categories, followed by runner-up Va de Vi Bistro and Wine Bar in both categories.
If you are seeking a great Seafood Restuaurant, landlocked Walnut Creek scored another sweep. The winner is Walnut Creek Yacht Club followed by Oke Poke. Kelly Machnov was exuburent in her praise, "Walnut Creek Yacht Club is by far the best of the best for seafood dining in the Bay Area. The seafood is as fresh as if the fish just jumped out of the water and onto your plate! The ambience of the restaurant is delightful and the staff go out of their way to make the dining experience extra special."
If you prefer your own cooking, consider the category of best Specialty Grocery Store. The runner-up is Lunardi's with a market in Walnut Creek.
If you have your heart set on finding the best Steak House, Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar in Walnut Creek was selected as the runner-up.
For those who love Thai food, Kacha Thai Bistro topped the Thai Restaurant category.
True Food Kitchen in Walnut Creek was selected as the runner-up in the Vegetarian Restaurant category.
And the final food category in which Walnut Creek is represented is Vietnamese Restaurant. Vanessa’s Bistro 2 won followed by runner-up Kevin’s Noodle House with multiple locations including Walnut Creek.
