Walnut Creek's Draft Sustainability Action Plan Available For Review

Those wishing to provide feedback on the plan need to do so before May 21, city officials said.

WALNUT CREEK, CA — The city of Walnut Creek’s draft Sustainability Action Plan is now available for review on the city’s website.

According to city officials, the Sustainability Action Plan is an update on the city’s first Climate Action Plan, which was adopted in 2012 to reduce Walnut Creek’s greenhouse gas emissions.

"The Sustainability Action Plan focuses on the actions that our community will take in order to address climate change and improve the health and wellbeing of everyone in Walnut Creek," the city said.

The city is asking residents to provide feedback on which aspects of the plan are most important to them and how the city can best implement the plan’s 22 strategies alongside the community. Feedback should be submitted through an online survey available here until May 21, the city said.

Residents, businesses, and members of the community are invited to learn more about the plan and provide feedback by participating in a community workshop scheduled to be held on Zoom May 3 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Interested parties should RSVP for the event to receive the Zoom link, the city said.
