14-Year-Old Killed In Salinas​ Shooting

SALINAS, CA — A high school student was shot and killed Friday in Salinas, authorities said.

Officers responded to a report of a shooting victim around 3:30 p.m. Friday in the 1200 block of Camarillo Court, near Alisal High School, according to the Salinas Police Department. Police found a 14-year-old boy with multiple gunshot wounds. The teen died at the scene.

The incident prompted brief lockdowns Friday at Alisal High School and Cesar E. Chavez Elementary, KSBW 8 reported. Salinas Union High School District confirmed on Saturday that the teen killed was a student in the district.

The shooting remained under investigation.
