Man Sent Photo Of Genitals To 12-Year-Old, Asked For Explicit Pictures: DOJ

SALINAS, CA — A Monterey County man pleaded guilty Monday to attempted enticement and coercion of a minor, and child pornography distribution after he sent a 12-year-old girl a photo of his genitals and demanded she reply with explicit images of herself, authorities said.

Donald Ramirez, 40, of Salinas, used Snapchat to send the picture to the girl and repeatedly ordered her to take and send him photos of herself engaged in sexually explicit conduct at his direction, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.

Ramirez also used other social media platforms, including Telegram and Wickr, to distribute child sexual abuse material, including images of another minor girl he had communicated with on Snapchat, authorities said.

Ramirez is set to be sentenced on May 11, 2026, and faces a minimum of 10 years in prison and a maximum of life, according to the department.
