• Watsonville City Council to mull plastic bag, oversize vehicle parking ordinances (pajaronian.com) — Watsonville residents could soon see stricter rules on plastic checkout bags and where oversized vehicles can park, as the City Council takes up two new ordinances Tuesday evening. The proposals would keep a higher paper-bag fee than the state minimum, tighten definitions of reusable bags, and ban most oversized vehicle parking on city streets, with specific exemptions and new signage planned.

• Santa Cruz County residents' input wanted on 2050 transportation plan (santacruzlocal.org) — A major 2050 transportation plan that could shape highways, sidewalks, transit, and rail across Santa Cruz County is coming to Watsonville for public input this Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall and on Zoom. With more than $14 billion in proposed projects, including many still unfunded, residents are urged to email comments by Jan. 30 or speak up at the Watsonville meeting.
