• Report of person with firearm results in lockdown in West Menlo Park — suspect commits suicide (inmenlo.com) — A police response to a person with a firearm in a vehicle on Avy Avenue triggered lockdowns at La Entrada Middle School, Phillips Brooks School, and nearby St. Denis Church in West Menlo Park on Tuesday. The individual, identified as a missing and suicidal person from outside the county, was later found deceased from a gunshot wound, and officials are urging West Menlo Park and Menlo Park residents to sign up for SMC Alert and Nixle for future emergencies.
