The walls of Mauro’s Cafe-Fred Segal,in West Hollywood, will be lined with some 50 rare photographs of the most prominent stars of Hollywood’s golden era, beginning Oct. 10 and running through December.
Exclusive photos of Sinatra, Brando, Bogart,Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor, Natalie Wood, are but a few. The photo exhibition will feature the works of Murray Garrett, one of Hollywood’s most prominent photographers during the ‘40s through the ‘70s. (the attached is but one of the photos) Garrett gained fame by being selected by Hollywood’s elite to photograph private parties and other events.
A few of the assignments included Frank Sinatra’s choosing him to photograph Natalie Wood’s 21st birthday party at Romanoff’s. Lizand Richard Burton had him accompany the two and their children in a helicopter and then a tour of Disneyland. LouellaParsons, Lew Wasserman and other industry powerhouses used him exclusively for their parties. All knew he would never disclose any information or sell the photos.
