• SEC Charges Three Advisors Over Oil and Gas Fraud (wealthmanagement.com) — Residents should know that a financial advisor who held investment workshops at offices in Whittier has been charged by the SEC with selling risky, unregistered oil and gas securities and failing to disclose his compensation. Federal regulators say many investors lost money, while the advisor and two others in Florida and California earned substantial fees; penalties will be decided later by a judge.
