• County Seeks Input on Draft Drought Resilience Plan (westsacramentonewsledger.com) — From Woodland, Yolo County is asking residents to weigh in on a new Drought Resilience Plan that will guide how local agencies protect domestic wells and small water systems. The draft outlines data collection, risk assessment, emergency responses, and long-term fixes, and will become part of the county’s 2024–2029 Hazard Mitigation Plan. Comments are due by January 30 via email.
   

• Giving Tree Delivers More Than 350 Gifts to Families (independentvoice.com) — Woodland Memorial Hospital’s annual Giving Tree program just delivered more than 350 holiday gifts to 42 local families, many living well below the poverty line. Partnering with Yolo County Children’s Alliance, hospital staff personally fulfilled wish tags to bring both cheer and essential support, underscoring Woodland’s commitment to caring for vulnerable children, caregivers, and single parents.
