Get Out for Some Weekend Fun: Sept. 28-30
Here are some events and activities taking place in and around the neighborhood this weekend.

We know you don't always stay in the neighborhood for the weekend, so here are some events and activities taking place Saturday and Sunday in town and nearby. And best of all, you don't have to drive anywhere the 405 to get to any of them!
Halloween Harvest Festival: The eighth annual Halloween Harvest Festival gets started Friday at the Pierce College Farm Center. Activities include hay rides, a corn maze, rock climbing, pony rides, an animal farm, genstone mining and arts and crafts. The festival is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays and 10 a.m. to midnight Fridays and Saturdays through Oct. 31 at 20800 Victory Blvd., Woodland Hills. Admission is $5, though additional pricing options that include activity booklets are available. See the festival's website for pricing details.
Best Stuff Celebration: The Leonis Adobe hosts this family-fun day that benefits My Stuff Bags Foundation. It will include wine tasting, gourmet food, silly contests and more. The cost is $75, but it helps foster children across America. The event runs from 6 to 10 p.m. at 23537 Calabasas Road, Calabasas. Wizard of Oz screening: The Cinema Heritage Project and City Councilmember Mitchell Englander will present a free outdoor showing of MGM's classic musial, The Wizard of Oz at 7 p.m. Saturday at Shadow Ranch Park, 22533 Vanowen St. in West Hills. The screeing will take place in front of the historic house where Florence Ryerson lived when she wrote many of the key scenes of the family favorite.
Bu La La Music Festival and Fun Faire: The Malibu Guild of Mending Kids International is hosting this event that will feature games, rides, swimming and a water slide, barbecue lunch, wine and beer gardens, popcorn, cotton candy and ice cream! The event takes place from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Camp Keystone, 2854 Triunfo Canyon Road, Agoura Hills. Admission is $30 for adults, $20 for children 4 to 12 years, and children 3 and younger get in free. Proceeds will provide surgeries for children. See more details on the Mending Kids website.

Malibu Marketplace: The Malibu Lions Club sponsors this 35th annual event features a variety of items from vendors throughout the Southland. The Lion Club uses the proceeds to support a wide range of causes throughout the year. It takes place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at 23555 Civic Center Way, Malibu. Remember, more people than usual may be taking Topanga Canyon Blvd., Las Virgenes or Kanan roads due to Carmegeddon, so be prepared for a back up if you choose to venture over the hills.
