Weather Service Says High Heat to Return
The weather service predicts temperatures over 100 degrees this week.

The National Weather Service is predicting temperatures high enough to move it to issue an hazardous weather outlook.
Today's high in Woodland Hills will be about 97 degrees, rising to 100 Sunday and then up to 104 degrees Monday and Tuesday before dropping back down to 97 on Wednesday. By Thursday, temperatures should be down to 91 degrees and a sunny 88 on Friday, according to the NWS.
An upper level high pressure system will build across the state Sunday through Thursday, which, combined with an offshore surface flow, will bring hot and dry conditions to much of Southwest California.

The Los Angeles County health officer has issued a reminder that precautions should be taken, especially by older adults, caretakers of infants and children, individuals who participate in outdoor activities and individuals who are sensitive to the heat.
“Everyone should remember to take special care of themselves, children, the elderly, and their pets. When temperatures are high, prolonged sun exposure may cause dehydration, heat cramps, heat exhaustion and heat stroke,” said Jonathan E. Fielding, Director of Public Health and Health Officer. “Never leave children, elderly people, or pets unattended in vehicles, even with the windows ‘cracked’ or open, as temperatures inside can quickly rise to life-threatening levels.”

Along with health risks will come increased fire danger, "peaking on Monday and Tuesday when record-breaking triple digit heat and widespread single digit humidities will combine with very dry fuels," the Weather Service reported.
