Pierce College to Host Day of Politics Thursday
The event offers the opportunity to learn about propositions and meet candidates.

Correction: The Day of Politics at Pierce College takes place Thursday.
Pierce College is inviting the community to join in its Day of Politics Thursday. The event will feature discussions of some of the initiatives appearing on the November ballot and some of the candidates who are running for office.
Thursday's event is the first of a two-part series. The second will feature a debate between congressional candidates Howard Berman and Brad Sherman on Oct. 11.

On Thursday, from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., representatives from the non-partisan League of Women Voters will discuss propositions 31 (at 9:35 a.m.), prop. 35 (at 11:15 a.m.), prop. 39 (at 12:45 p.m.), and prop 36 (at 2:30 p.m.).
From 5 to 5:30 p.m., Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein will speak, and there will be a mulit-party debate including representatives of the Libertarian, Peace and Freedom, Republican and Democratic parties.

The events will take place in the school's Great Hall, 6201 Winnetka Ave.
