A 19-year-old worker at Westfield Topanga Mall was kidnapped and sexually assaulted as she left her job on the Fourth of July, police said Monday as detectives released photos and surveillance video of a suspect in hopes of tracking him down.
Around 5:30 p.m. July 4, the woman was standing near her car in the mall
parking lot when she was approached by a man armed with a knife, police said.
The man forced her into her car at knifepoint and held her hostage for about three hours, sexually assaulting her and forcing her to drive him around
the San Fernando Valley, Pasadena and downtown Los Angeles, police said.
The man also used her ATM card to withdraw money from her bank account.
The suspect was described as in his early 20s, physically fit, between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-8, weighing about 140 to 160 pounds.
Anyone with information was asked to call (877) 527-3247.
