The biggest news of the week, of course, were the events in the Boston area. While Woodland Hills Patch didn't report on it because it wasn't local to us (though we did have some local runners in the Marathon), our sister site in Watertown, Mass. had constant updates and continues to provide information about the victims, bombers and heroes.

Locally, in response to the bombings, police forces reported security would be beefed up at a number of large events planned around the greater Los Angeles area this weekend.
