2 Upcoming Bicycle Events In Arvada Announce Changes

Slight changes have been made to two upcoming bicycle events in Arvada, city officials announced.

ARVADA, CO—Slight changes have been made to two upcoming bicycle events in Arvada, city officials announced.

The annual Bicycle Recycle event hours have been re-scheduled to 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19.

The program is a partnership between the city and the Golden/Arvada Lake Arbor Optimists. Bikes that are no longer used are collected, refurbished and then distributed to community members who cannot afford to buy one.

The second change is to the annual Bike to Work Day, which is now the Bike to Anywhere Week and will take place Sept. 21 - 25.

This annual event encourages everyone to reduce traffic congestion and improve air quality by using a bike for transportation.

As a special treat for those who commute on a bike, there will be stations handing out free food and prizes all across the Denver metro area during the morning and afternoon rush hours.
