Patch: How long have you been doing business in town?
Leanne Weinheimer: Arbor View Senior Living, formerly known as Colorado Lutheran Home, has served Colorado’s aging population since 1964.
Patch: What attracted you to the line of work you’re in, and how did you get started?
Leanne Weinheimer: I started in the senior industry as a caregiver in 2017. I immediately knew it was a passion of mine to work with elderly people to help them feel safe and happy in their homes. After caregiving for several years, I worked my way up and became a caregiver manager. I then got offered a job at an independent living community as the activities director. After being there for two years, I became the assistant general manager. Then, I migrated to the sales side of the industry. I got offered a job here at Arbor View Senior Living as the Sales and Marketing Director. I absolutely love the atmosphere and the team. Everyone is very welcoming, and we have some of the best residents.

Patch: What's the most common piece of advice you give to customers?
Leanne Weinheimer: Learn what your different options are and what is all out there! When family members come in looking for a loved one, they don’t know where to start so I skip the salesy talk and lead them in the right direction, even if it isn't our community. You don't want to wait until the last minute to find the right place for your loved one. Always start your research early even if they’re not “ready” to make the move yet. I always say this is the resident’s home, so trust your gut when you walk into a community to make sure it’s a good fit—have a meal or do an activity in the community so they can get a “taste” of the atmosphere.
Patch: What’s the most satisfying part of your job?
Leanne Weinheimer: I truly enjoy being a part of the process of helping families find a new home for their loved ones. It always touches my heart when I see new residents thrive when they move in. I also love getting to know each person who walks in the door. I could sit down for hours just hearing about their past and all of their wonderful stories. Building a personal connection means a lot to me, the family and potential residents.
Patch: How would you say your business or organization distinguishes itself from the others?
Leanne Weinheimer: We are a smaller community, and with that comes a real “family” atmosphere the moment you walk in. The residents really sell the building, they’re all very sweet and welcoming. You can clearly see how much the team members care about the residents; we really get to know each one and strive to make them feel like part of the Arbor View family!
