Many Arvada Teens Eligible For Adams County Award
Adams County Mayors and Commissioners Youth Awards recognize young people who have risen to meet challenges and served as role models.

ARVADA, CO —Adams County currently is seeking nominations for the 2022 Adams County Mayors and Commissioners Youth Awards (ACMCYA). Arvada students who live or attend school in Adams County are eligible for the honor.
The ACMCYA recognizes deserving young people who have risen to meet challenges —especially those who have overcome adversity — while maintaining a positive attitude and serving as a role model for other teens, according to the county.
The award is for teenagers in grades 6 through 12, though people younger than 2o who are not currently in a school setting also are eligible. The nomination form is available online and is due no later than Jan. 31.

A selection committee comprised of representatives from the county and local jurisdictions will screen all nominations and select 20 honorees, who then will be recognized at an annual county-wide celebration in the spring.
"The award program provides business, community and civic leaders an opportunity to actively demonstrate their belief in and support for the young people in our communities," the county said in a statement publicizing the award.
