• Anniversaries galore, a city council election and community organizing mark busy year for Arvada (arvadapress.com) — Arvada wrapped up 2025 with big milestones, from the Arvada Harvest Festival’s 100th year and the Greater Arvada Chamber’s centennial to the Arvada Center’s 50th anniversary and Arvada High School’s 125th. Residents also saw a new city manager, a homelessness sheltering agreement with Jefferson County, a city council shakeup, and community-driven food security efforts like the No Neighbor Hungry campaign.
   

• Arvada City Council approves rezoning for Candelas Point to allow townhomes (arvadapress.com) — Arvada City Council has cleared the way for 52 new townhomes at Candelas Point by approving a comprehensive plan change and rezoning for a 4.86-acre parcel. The project still needs separate development approval, but the area is also slated for new retail, a Jefferson County library branch, and an Arvada Fire station. Councilmembers closed their final 2025 meeting by thanking staff and residents and looking ahead to 2026.
