• Rent remains steady at recently purchased mobile home parks — until late spring 2026 (aspentimes.com) — Residents of the Aspen-Basalt and Mountain Valley mobile home parks have secured ownership of their land, but higher monthly payments are coming by late spring 2026 because fundraising fell $4 million short. Rents will stay level through 2025 under Colorado law, while a local housing nonprofit works to build a rent-assistance fund that could ease the jump for Basalt-area families most in need. 
• Roaring Fork Safe Passages discusses plans with Aspen (aspentimes.com) — Wildlife advocates are pushing a major safety plan for Highway 82 that specifically flags the Basalt stretch as one of five top collision hot spots in the valley. The group hopes to tap new federal funding for wildlife overpasses, underpasses, and fencing, but will eventually need local dollars and political support to bring these protections to Basalt-area drivers and animals.
