• La Plata County awarded $165,000 in GOCO grants for restoration, conservation (durangoherald.com) — Bayfield is set to upgrade trails and tackle erosion in Little Pine, Eagle and Joe Stephenson parks using a new $28,200 Great Outdoors Colorado grant. The funding is part of $165,000 awarded in La Plata County, supporting forest health, habitat restoration and recreation projects in partnership with Southwest Conservation Corps.

• Durango JV girls basketball downs BHS girls varsity in OT (durangoherald.com) — Bayfield High School’s girls varsity pushed Durango’s JV to overtime at home before falling 55-43 in a tense matchup that saw two Wolverines foul out. Despite losing junior guard Vivien Clance to injury, Bayfield got big performances from Kieley White Thunder and Kimball Anderson, and now heads to the Rye Holiday Classic for more early-season tests.
