Why are you seeking elective office?

As a lifetime Boulder resident I want to see Boulder become the leading sustainable city in America.

What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

I will fight to push Xcel to create solar gardens, improve battery storage for energy, and put a fee on single use plastic. No other candidate will fight harder for climate activism.

How do you think local officials are performing in responding to the coronavirus? What if anything would you have done differently?

We need to increase reserve funds for residential housing and local businesses at risk from unpredictable events such as the pandemic. The federal government should have done more for restrictions during the initial outbreak.

Describe the other issues that define your campaign platform.

Increase in greywater recycling, create sustainable affordable housing, and advocate for affordable housing which respects existing communities while allowing high-density areas through zoning. Create public outreach to reduce police demand. Design a program to encourage members of the homeless community to gain social and economic stability through existing resources.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

My work with hempcrete gives me an understanding of sustainable development by means of carbon capturing, chemical components, and use of minimal amounts of resources needed. Working these types of projects taught an emphasis of community outreach and education to share information.

The best advice ever shared with me was:

To pursue your passions.

What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

As a person born and raised in Boulder, I want what’s best for our city. This means improvements to housing, public safety, seriously combatting climate change, increase revenue for the city in new sustainable ways, and to provide a higher quality of life for all residents of Boulder.
