Denver Stadium Is No Longer 'Sports Authority' Field
Sports Authority purchased naming rights of the stadium in August 2011, but the company has since closed after filing bankruptcy.

DENVER, CO -- Sports Authority Field will soon get a new name, but what that name will be is unknown. The Denver Post reported the Broncos will remove the signs outside of the stadium, more than one year after Sports Authority filed for bankruptcy and closed operations.
"Team president and CEO Joe Ellis said Tuesday that the team will take down the signage representing the defunct company, starting within the next 10 days," the Post reported.
The Post reported that the team hopes to find a new naming rights partner soon.

"Though many fans have longed for the team to simply use Mile High as the name, the team is adamant about finding a new partner because of the needed funding for stadium maintenance and upgrades. The team assumed the remainder of Sports Authority’s naming rights contract and has been footing the bill without problem. But it eats into the team’s bottom line and takes money away from other potential upgrades for the team’s facilities," the newspaper reported.
