• Lawsuit filed after woman dies from allergic reaction in jail (shorenewsnetwork.com) — A wrongful death lawsuit has been filed in Golden after 27-year-old Ashley Raisbeck died following an alleged allergic reaction while jailed at the Jefferson County Detention Center. Her family claims medical staff ignored documented penicillin allergies and repeatedly gave a related drug, despite worsening symptoms, leading to her 2023 death. The suit targets the sheriff’s office and multiple medical providers over their handling of her care.
   

• Power shutoffs force patients to reschedule some procedures (kdvr.com) — Power shutoffs in Golden on Wednesday forced several local clinics to cancel surgeries, close early, or work without key equipment, directly affecting patients and pet owners. Green Mountain Animal Hospital operated in the dark, Panorama Orthopedics closed at noon, and Golden Peak Dental in nearby Lakewood scaled back procedures while watching for outages. Residents may face rescheduled appointments and limited services.
