• Ferrer pleads guilty to 2nd degree murder of Paul Peavey (clearcreekcourant.com) — An Idaho Springs resident, dog breeder Paul Peavey, was killed in August 2024, and the suspect has now pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and aggravated robbery in a deal with Clear Creek County prosecutors. Investigators linked stolen items and a handgun to Georgetown resident Sergio Ferrer, who admitted shooting Peavey. Sentencing is scheduled for January 12, with a possible 8–24 year prison term.
