ROXBOROUGH, CO – Colorado Parks and Wildlife is seeking volunteer naturalists to be trained to assist visitors at Roxborough State Park. The agency will hold a prospective volunteer open house at the park on Thursday, Feb. 21 from 10-11:30 a.m.

Volunteers take part in a four-week training course, beginning in April. After 48 service hours, volunteers can receive a state parks annual pass.

The park, filled with red sandstone formations and hogback hills, features Fountain Valley hikes and the ruins of the historic Persse Place house, the stone 1880s home of would-be developer Henry S. Persse, who wanted to turn the park into a resort.
Naturalists run tours of the hikes and archeological sites.
