Centennial Woman Dies In Crash, Man Faces DUI Charges
Julia Ann Pacheco died in a crash with a driver who faces vehicular homicide charges, police said.
LAKEWOOD, CO — A Centennial woman died in a crash Monday in Lakewood, and a driver was arrested in connection with her death, police said.
Daniel Howard Short, 64, faces several charges, including vehicular homicide, DUI and drug possession, the Lakewood Police Department said.
The woman who died has been identified as 59-year-old Julia Ann Pacheco, police said.

Officers were called to the intersection of West Yale Avenue and South Sheridan Boulevard around 8 p.m. after reports of a collision between a motorcyclist and a driver.
Witnesses said Pacheco was driving a motorcycle when she was struck by Short's vehicle.

"While the investigation is on-going, speed, drugs and alcohol are all being considered as factors in the crash," Lakewood police said in a news release.
Short was arrested at the crash site and booked into the Jefferson County Jail. His first court date has not yet been announced.
