• Colorado man sentenced to 12 years in prison for knife attack on Douglas County deputies (cbsnews.com) — A Littleton resident has been sentenced to 12 years in state prison after a knife confrontation with Douglas County deputies that followed vandalism of a Pride display at a Highlands Ranch grocery store. Prosecutors say quick action by deputies prevented serious injuries, and court testimony highlighted the man’s recent mental health struggles and prior warnings from his family to law enforcement.
• Highland Huskies football season was a family affair for Chase family (greeleytribune.com) — A Windsor family’s high school football season had a Littleton connection through mom Christine, who grew up in Littleton and graduated from Arapahoe High before building a life in northern Colorado. Her twin daughters became Highland’s kickers, their brother starred at linebacker, and their parents even built new goalposts, turning the Huskies’ successful season into a true family project.
