
JEFFERSON COUNTY, CO — Mandatory evacuations were lifted Monday for all of Ken Caryl Valley after a large grass fire burned near C-470 and Kipling, fire officials said.
The fire grew to 150 acres, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
As of 5 p.m., the eastbound lanes of C-470 remained closed, fire officials said.

Evacuees were directed to the evacuation center at Chatfield High School, but were given the green light to return to their homes just before 5 p.m.
Hildebrand Ranch and South Valley parks will remain closed until early Tuesday morning, parks officials said.

No structures were burned in the fire, according to officials.
