Freeze Warning Issued For Littleton

LITTLETON, CO — Weather officials have issued a freeze warning for Littleton that will remain in effect from midnight tonight until 9 a.m. Friday. A frost advisory for Thursday morning was canceled.

Lows in the upper 20s are expected overnight, according to the National Weather Service.

"Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing," the freeze warning read. "Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold."

Littleton can expect a mostly cloudy sky Thursday morning, with a high around 49 and light wind. Then rain is likely to begin in the afternoon, weather officials said.

The rain is expected to turn into snow showers by the evening, and some thunder is possible, according to the National Weather Service.

If you're planning to head into the mountains, be prepared for much colder weather and snow, the agency said in a hazardous weather outlook.

"Cooler weather is forecast for Thursday before another quick moving storm system impacts the region Thursday afternoon into Friday morning," the alert read.

"This system will bring light snow to most of the mountains, foothills, and Palmer Divide, where a couple inches of snow are possible. The urban corridor will see rain mixing with snow, with little to no accumulation expected."

Littleton residents can expect a sunny sky this weekend, with highs in the late 60s to early 70s.
