LITTLETON, CO – First daughter Ivanka Trump cancelled a scheduled public meeting at Lockheed-Martin in Littleton Wednesday April 8, but did visit Highlands Ranch on Wednesday morning after a deadly school shooting at a local charter school.

The White House announced that Ivanka Trump visited the county's police substation near the Highlands Ranch STEM School. There she met with Douglas County Sheriff Tony Spurlock and deputies who responded to the shooting, speaking for about 20 minutes.

She was very gracious with her time, and those that were there were very appreciative,” Deputy Cocha Heyden with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office told The Denver Post. “She was kind and spoke very highly of law enforcement and her family’s respect for us.”
