Library Fines To Be Wiped Clean Jan. 1 At Bemis Library

"Clean Slate" program wants you to return your library books and start fresh.

LITTLETON, CO – All is forgiven! Come back to the Bemis Library.

The library's new "Clean Slate Program" is offering a New Year's gift to anyone with overdue books (or videos, CDs or other items). Beginning on Jan. 1, 2019, all overdue fines will be waived when a book or other item is returned.

Do you have lost or damaged items? No problem. The library will waive half the cost. The program lasts until the end of February.

Like other metro Denver libraries, Bemis library wants patrons to come back and not be concerned about fines and fees. Denver Public Library announced they would go "fine free" starting Jan. 1, including forgiving $474,000 in overdue fines from almost 85,000 customers.
