Littleton Fire Chief Resigns

Christopher Armstrong will take a job as the fire chief for Hall County, Georgia.

LITTLETON, CO – Littleton Fire Chief Christopher Armstrong resigned from his position with Littleton Fire Rescue to accept a new position as the fire chief for Hall County, Georgia, near Gainesville, Georgia, the city announced Friday.

Armstrong has been with Littleton Fire Rescue since December 2013. Before that, Armstrong worked as a deputy chief of operations for Miramar Fire Rescue in Miramar, Florida, where he started his career as a paramedic. Armstrong and his wife are both from the south. "This has been a bittersweet decision, but my family and I are excited to be closer to our extended family," Armstrong said in a statement.

Littleton Fire Rescue's district is scheduled to be merged into South Metro Fire Rescue in 2019. Dispatchers have already merged. Already, operations are working together to cover Littleton's 30 sq. mile district and the larger South Metro coverage area.

Armstrong’s final day with Littleton will be Oct. 10. Operations Division Chief Jeff Tasker will serve as interim Fire Chief. Armstrong went on to say, “The people on the leadership team have supported me beyond my wildest dreams, I want to thank everyone for the opportunity to serve in Littleton and hopefully I made a difference.”
