Littleton Immigrant Resources Center May Lose Funding: Report
The Littleton City Council voted 5-2 to proceed with cutting the center's $150,000 annual budget. It will formally vote in October.
LITTLETON, CO — The Littleton Immigrant Resources Center stands to lose the $150,000 it receives annually, Colorado Community Media reported.
On Sept. 11, the Littleton City Council voted 5-2 to move ahead with cutting funding to the center, which is the city's only affordable resource center for immigrants seeking citizenship, according to the news outlet. The Council will formally vote on the move in October.
Mayor Pro Tempore Scott Melin, who along with Councilor Kelly Milliman supported funding the center, said in an interview with Colorado Community Media that he's disappointed in the Council's decision.
