Littleton-Area Seniors Recognized As National Merit Semifinalists

Seventeen Littleton-area seniors were among 221 semifinalists in state of Colorado.

LITTLETON, CO – Seventeen students from the Class of 2019 attending Littleton-area high schools were recognized as National Merit Semifinalists, the National Merit Scholarship corporation said.

The honored students were:

  • Caleb Bristol, Chatfield High School
  • Madeline Wessels, Columbine High School
  • Cole Gibson, Dakota Ridge High School
  • Samuel Mills, Dakota Ridge High School
  • Fajer, Elinor B. Fajer, Heritage High School
  • Jacob Carlson, Rock Canyon High School
  • Derek Chen, Rock Canyon High School
  • Matt D. Chen, Rock Canyon High School
  • Sonia H. Chu, Rock Canyon High School
  • Ewing, Calvin A., Rock Canyon High School
  • Brittney J. Hutchison, Rock Canyon High School
  • Dale D. Kim, Rock Canyon High School
  • Gloria R. Lee, Rock Canyon High School
  • Amber Liu, Rock Canyon High School
  • Meredith, Isabelle J.Meredith, Rock Canyon High School
  • Narayana, Anila S. Narayana, Rock Canyon High School

A total of 221 students in Colorado scored high enough on the National Merit exam to make the semifinal round. About 3 percent of eligible students are invited to submit an application to earn "finalist status," the organization said in a press release. Finalists are eligible for various scholarships and awards.
