Merryhill Preschool Students Donate Backpacks to Children in Need

Merryhill Preschool students donated backpacks filled with essential items to Packs of Hope

Students at Merryhill Preschool in Aurora recently donated backpacks to benefit children supported by Packs of Hope, a nonprofit organization that partners with community members and county human service agencies to provide backpacks filled with essential clothing items to children and youth who are transitioning into foster care. Students filled 15 backpacks full of items for local children in need.

Merryhill Preschool instills a sense of social responsibility at an early age by implementing opportunities for students to learn about the importance of giving back to their communities and helping others in need. Its signature Links to Learning preschool curriculum emphasizes social-emotional learning as a stepping stone for kindergarten and beyond. Teachers work with children to help recognize and label emotions in themselves and others, while learning how they fit into their community and the larger world.
