Littleton Public Schools, ACC Will Be Closed For Blizzard

The City of Littleton announced that all offices, Bemis library and Littleton museum will be closed during extreme weather.

LITTLETON, CO –Littleton Public Schools, Arapahoe community college and all city offices will be closed Wednesday Mar. 13 because of severe weather predictions.

A message on the LPS district's website said:

"Due to the forecast for a significant winter storm tomorrow, Littleton Public Schools will be closed and all school-sponsored activities will be cancelled for tomorrow, Wednesday, March 13, 2019."

Arapahoe Community College will also cancel classes for Wednesday, the college said.

"Due to the blizzard warning issued by the National Weather Service, and for the safety of city staff and citizens, all city facilities will be closed Wednesday, March 13, including the Littleton Center, Bemis Public Library, the Littleton Museum, and the Littleton Municipal Court."

Beginning around 11 a.m. Wednesday, the metro Denver area is expected to experience blizzard and white-out conditions, lasting until Thursday morning and dumping between three to seven inches of snow, the National Weather Service said.

"Heavy snow and gusty winds are predicted, with significant travel impacts," NWS said.

Denver International Airport reported that many flights will be cancelled for tomorrow as well.
