Wind Crest Offers the Vibrant, Engaging Lifestyle You're Looking For
Wind Crest offers a carefree lifestyle to match a range of retirement goals

You've worked hard to enjoy your retirement! Whether you're hoping to relax with a good book or pursue new hobbies, Wind Crest, an Erickson Senior Living community in Highlands Ranch, Colo., offers a carefree lifestyle to match a range of retirement goals.
Must-haves
When Caleb and Pat Cooper were researching continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs), Wind Crest rose far above the rest. They were looking for a welcoming environment, abundant outdoor space, and a range of activities, and Wind Crest checked all those boxes.

"One attraction was the campus," explains Caleb. "Some of the places we looked at were just in buildings--you walked out onto a busy street. Their setting was not appealing to us, but Wind Crest's was."
Pat agrees, saying, "The location is so attractive. Plus, Wind Crest offered a lot more activities than the other places we had looked at. There are a lot of walking trails here, two swimming pools, and so many groups for people to become involved in."

Sold on the community's amenities and activities, the Coopers turned their attention to finding the perfect residence for them to enjoy a vibrant lifestyle.
"My other must-have was that I really wanted a laundry room," says Pat. That's what drew the couple to their current two-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath home with a den. "This apartment has everything that we wanted," she adds.
Since moving in last year, Caleb and Pat have enjoyed taking walks surrounded by nature--especially on the nearby High Line Canal trails--and meeting lots of friendly neighbors.
Coming full circle
Like the Coopers, resident Judy Wyley loves Wind Crest. In fact, she loves Wind Crest so much that she's moved there twice.
Judy and her first husband moved to Wind Crest in 2009; however, he sadly passed away. Five years later, she met Ron Wyley. When they married in 2017, they decided to live together in Ron's house in rural Franktown, Colo.
Social opportunities
But Judy is a self-described city girl. "While some people like being secluded--not being able to see neighbors or have many activities--that's not me," she says.
Because she had previously done her research on CCRCs that offered an engaging lifestyle, she didn't have to look anywhere else--Judy suggested they move to Wind Crest.
"I knew I was coming back to Wind Crest. I've been a newbie twice," she says, with a laugh. "I've come full circle!"
Judy and Ron moved into a two-bedroom, two-bath home with a sunroom and appreciate having the flexibility to create their own schedules.
Judy, always out and about in the community, takes advantage of the activities and amenities just steps from their front door.
"Ron is more of a stay-at-home guy, but he doesn't mind that I go," she says. "I go someplace almost every day, whether it's a lecture or class. Sometimes, I enjoy a meal with the ladies."
She also takes walks around the scenic campus, plays bridge and mah-jongg, attends movie showings, and spends time in Wind Crest's libraries.
"I try to walk every day, and there are such wonderful places to walk here. If the weather is bad, I can get a couple of miles walking through the connected buildings," Judy says. "On nice days, there are paths to use all around campus as well as the High Line Canal trails."
She continues, "But don't get me wrong--Ron wants to go out to dinner every night on campus, and we have so many choices here. Half the time, we'll ask to sit with somebody we don't know. That's always nice for us to meet new people."
She adds, "And if I want to have a day where I stay right here in our apartment, I can do that too!"
Something for everyone
Reflecting on her journeys to Wind Crest, Judy appreciates that the community offers a range of services and activities to meet people where they are. "I love it here. There's nothing I desire more than this," says Judy. "Wind Crest has everything you need!"
