Find a maintenance-free residence with predictable monthly expenses at Wind Crest

Laird Davis couldn't be happier with his maintenance-free residence at Wind Crest. The predictable expenses have made retirement living a breeze, letting him concentrate on enjoying his favorite activities.
Laird Davis couldn't be happier with his maintenance-free residence at Wind Crest. The predictable expenses have made retirement living a breeze, letting him concentrate on enjoying his favorite activities.

When Laird Davis decided to move from the East Coast to Colorado to be closer to his daughter, he explored three continuing care retirement communities that she had researched for him.

Great financial value and a vibrant lifestyle were at the top of his list, and he found both at Wind Crest, an Erickson Senior Living community in Highlands Ranch, Colo.

"Wind Crest was the clear winner! I was very impressed by the financial benefits, and the lifestyle was great as well," says Laird. "This community provided the most financial security, which is important because I didn't want to worry about the uncertainties of the economy on a daily basis. Moving here enabled me to relax."

Predictable costs

Wind Crest's pricing structure is made up of two components: the 90% refundable entrance fee* and the monthly service package.

The monthly service package bundles the costs of utilities; maintenance, including appliance repair and replacement; a meal plan at on-site restaurants; access to amenities; and regularly scheduled local transportation into one predictable bill.

The package supports the more than 90% of seniors who say they want predictable monthly expenses to cover most of their daily activities, meals, and housing--according to a recent survey commissioned by Erickson Senior Living via Edge Research.

"I wanted to get out from underneath the unanticipated and usually high costs I had of keeping a house," says Laird. "At Wind Crest, it's all predictable. All that you want to do is included; it doesn't cost you an extra penny. I can get a meal in any one of seven restaurants or three cafes on campus. With it being included, it's a great value!"

Even the small tasks, like replacing a burnt-out lightbulb, are handled by the community's General Services team.

He adds, "Plus, it's less expensive than staying in my former house. It's an amazing relief to have that worry off my shoulders. I sleep better now."

Laird was drawn to the 90% refundable entrance fee, as it provides real peace of mind for him and his loved ones. The fee, collected as part of the residency process, will return to him or his beneficiaries, if or when he leaves the community.

"That's a wonderful security blanket," says Laird. "It ensures that my kids will have more financial security as well."

He also appreciates the community's Home for Life promise.*

No one ever expects to run out of money, but sometimes unforeseen issues arise that can quickly deplete your hard-earned savings and put you at risk.

At Wind Crest, we've planned for life's uncertainties and are prepared to assist eligible residents who outlive their resources. No one will be asked to leave the community because of a genuine inability to pay.

Investing in community

Wind Crest's incredible value is strengthened by the continuous investments in amenities and services across campus. These not only enhance residents' quality of life but also ensure the vitality of the entire community well into the future.

"Wind Crest recently made upgrades to the Town Center Clubhouse, Fireside Restaurant, fitness center, and medical center. Residents are enjoying the new CVS Pharmacy®, located right on site," says Financial Director Karen Lux. "And, we added outdoor pickleball courts!"

Enjoying retirement

Without the responsibilities of maintenance and juggling bills, Laird finds that he has more free time to pursue the activities and hobbies he's interested in.

"That is a big deal for me," he says. "I do what I want to every day."

Laird loves the upgraded fitness center, where he works out at least twice a week.

He also takes classes through the Learners Group, attends concerts at the community's outdoor amphitheater, and volunteers as a resident ambassador, welcoming prospective residents and sharing his experiences living at Wind Crest.

"It's like Disneyland for adults. It's got everything!" says Laird, with a laugh. "With all these activities included, Wind Crest has given me the best value for my money."
