• Douglas County cracks down on shoplifting, but not shoplifters (9news.com) — Lone Tree shoppers and businesses are exempt from Douglas County’s proposed ordinance that would fine retailers up to $1,000 if they don’t report shoplifting within four days. The rule would only apply to about 900 stores in unincorporated Douglas County, excluding municipalities like Lone Tree, Castle Rock, and Parker, and reflects commissioners’ pushback against what they see as lax corporate theft policies.
