• Douglas County businesses to pay fines for unreported thefts under proposed ordinance (coloradopolitics.com) — Douglas County is considering a new ordinance that would fine businesses in unincorporated areas if they don’t report shoplifting within 96 hours, but it would not apply inside municipalities like Parker. Commissioners say the goal is to push especially big-box retailers to report thefts, as shoplifting has risen locally and statewide. Officials will seek business feedback before taking a final vote.
