• ‘Intersection of the future': Continuous flow intersections open in Wheat Ridge (kdvr.com) — New continuous flow intersections are now open along Wadsworth in Wheat Ridge, funded in part by a voter-approved sales tax and designed to ease congestion and cut serious crashes. With more than 45,000 cars using the corridor daily, the project also adds sidewalks, bike lanes, and upgraded underground utilities to modernize some intersections that hadn’t been improved since the 1950s.
   

• Family of woman who died in Jefferson County Detention Facility files lawsuit (cpr.org) — Wheat Ridge police originally arrested 27-year-old Ashley Raisbeck, whose family is now suing over her 2023 death while jailed at the Jefferson County Detention Facility. The federal lawsuit alleges jail medical staff ignored her allergy and gave excessive doses of an antibiotic, while investigators and the sheriff’s office maintain her death was from natural causes linked to an intestinal condition.
   

• West Metro Fire Rescue changes schedule to give firefighters more sleep (9news.com) — West Metro Fire Rescue, which serves Wheat Ridge, is pushing firefighter shift start times from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. starting in January to improve sleep, alertness, and safety. The change follows a detailed sleep study on 166 firefighters and will be reevaluated with new data after the new schedule takes effect.
