1 Dead In Torrington House Fire: Police
The cause of the Wednesday morning blaze remains under investigation.

TORRINGTON, CT — One person died in a house fire on Marvin Street Wednesday morning, police said.
Police Capt. Brett L. Johnson said emergency crews were dispatched around 8:18 a.m. to a fire at 27 Marvin St.
Firefighters encountered heavy smoke and flames coming from the building when they arrived, Johnson said. Crews immediately began extinguishing the fire and searching for anyone trapped inside.

One victim was found inside the residence, and the person was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Johnson.
Police did not immediately release the victim’s identity Wednesday, as they were still working to notify relatives.

No one else was injured.
Local police, the Torrington Fire Marshal’s Office, and the Connecticut State Fire Marshal’s Office are still investigating the cause of the fire.
