7 CT Zip Codes Among Priciest In U.S., New Analysis Shows

Seven of the country's top 10 most expensive zip codes are in Connecticut. The 10th edition of the annual PropertyShark report is based on closed-sale data.

This year, $2 million was the minimum median sales price to make the top 100. Five years ago, fewer than 50 of the most expensive zip codes had reached that mark. Another sign of post-pandemic price acceleration was that 10 zip codes surpassed $5 million, according to Property Shark.

The priciest zip codes in Connecticut along with their nationwide ranking and median sale price are:

• 06878 in Greenwich (No. 43), at $2.753 million
• 06870 in Greenwich (No. 50), at $2.65 million
• 06831 in Greenwich (No. 58), at $2.535 million
• 06820 in Darien (No. 73), at $2.358 million
• 06830 in Greenwich (No. 83), at $2.218 million
• 06840 in New Canaan (No. 96), at $2.09 million
• 06853 in Norwalk (No. 98) at $2.059 million

Connecticut contributed a record number of zip codes, surpassing Massachusetts for the first time, which had five. Overall, the Northeast had one of its weakest years in a decade, according to PropertyShark.

Fifteen states contributed to the list, with 61 percent coming from California.

After eight consecutive years as the most expensive zip code in the country, Atherton’s 94027 ($8.33M) was overtaken by 33109 ($9.5M) off Miami Beach.
