70-Plus Dead Animals Discovered In Old Saybrook Home: Police

A criminal probe into the animal cruelty case is ongoing.

OLD SAYBROOK, CT —Police are investigating an animal cruelty case after finding more than 70 dead animals in an uninhabited local house this week.

Police Chief Michael Spera said officials on Wednesday removed the dead animals from the 31 River St. house, including rabbits, chickens, a duck, a skunk, a dove and two cats.

There were no live animals found, and no people were living there, according to Spera.
