Timeline, New Details On Snow Accumulation Estimates Released For CT
More snow is forecast during this upcoming holiday week. Here's what you need to know about potential travel impacts.
Snow is expected to fall in Connecticut on Tuesday, with meteorologists predicting most of the state will get between one and three inches.
WFSB is calling Tuesday a “First Alert Weather Day,” due to the precipitation and potential for slippery travel.
According to WFSB, only a coating to an inch of snow is expected along the shoreline, with the higher totals anticipated inland.

After a dry and cold day Monday, forecasters predict the state’s roads could get slippery starting mid to late morning on Tuesday. The snow will taper off Tuesday evening, WFSB reports.
“There’s still a bit of uncertainty on the exact timing of the arrival of snow, somewhere between 7 a.m. - 10 a.m., but it will be gone by (Tuesday) early evening,” the station reports.

According to WFSB, the snow could change to rain Tuesday afternoon, particularly along the shore.
The National Weather Service is also predicting that accumulating snow is likely on Tuesday. It predicts the snowfall will start in the morning and end in the evening.

Both Wednesday and Christmas Day will be dry in Connecticut, with high temperatures around 40 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
“Whatever snow does fall on Tuesday could lead to a ‘patchy white Christmas’ for some, but melting is expected for most,” WFSB reports.
After Tuesday’s snowfall, the next chance for rain and snow arrives on Friday, according to National Weather Service meteorologists.
As for Friday, “showers appear likely - right now, it appears they will be in the form of rain, but we’re watching the potential for a bit of snow to mix in late in the day as well,” WFSB reports.
