CONNECTICUT — Airbnb said that spontaneous travel is up, with visitors seeking "one-of-a-kind" experiences. From architectural gems to glamping domes to treehouses, travelers are exploring some of the most wishlisted stays across the 50 states.

The most wishlisted Airbnb in Connecticut is the River Loft in Weston, which was constructed in 2015 by "a visionary local architect."

The picturesque two-bedroom home is described as a "private riverfront retreat."

The River Loft features an "open-air design seamlessly integrates the outdoors with the interior space." The home is situated on two acres of private forest with private river access. Though it only has 750 square feet of living space, "you'll be instantly captivated by the layout that makes it feel spacious," according to the description.

The home is a fan favorite, averaging 4.96 stars on 126 reviews.

Airbnb said that its data shows that trips booked less than a week before travel has been the fastest growing segment over the last three years, with many of those being nearby excursions.

Like Weston's River Loft, many of those are unique homes in fabulous natural settings, like the Spectacular Spyglass Treehouse in Occidental, California, and the Eagles Nest Treehouse in Wardensville, West Virginia.

Homes with fascinating architecture are also featured, like Still Bend/Frank Lloyd Wright's Schwartz House in Two Rivers, Wisconsin.
